We have girls and boys' football teams, netball, cricket, tag rugby, swimming, cross-country, golf and athletics teams who represent the school in festivals and competitions across the year.
Sporting Events
Golf Tournament
The children had been practising their golf in PE and learning lots of new skills. They had a lot of fun at the tri-golf Tournament at Blatchington Mill.
Football
SJB football teams played several games last half term. The children involved have displayed great team work and have impressed with each game. The improvement has been wonderful to watch. The girls managed to score their first goal as a team and the boys had their first win 0f the season.
We're looking forward to their future achievements this half term.
The girls’ and boys’ football teams had a great first match against Queens Park. We were so impressed with the way the teams worked together and supported each other as a team. Thank you to everyone who stayed to support and cheer them on. We look forward to our next match against St Martin’s for both teams.
18.06.25 Withdean Athletics
SJB were amazing, coming home with 25 medals across track and field and coming 3rd in our division. Everyone did their best and that's what it's all about.
David took the gold and set a new record in the long jump wit a huge jump of 1.71m

02.07.25 Swimming Gala
We will be taking part in a schools swimming gala at Prince Regent Pool.
Racquet Festival
This week a group of year 4s took part in the racquet festival at Withdean, playing squash, tennis and badminton. They had a great time and learned lots of new skills.
Cricket Competition
We took a team of year 5 and 6s children to the cricket competition at Preston Park and they did extremely well, progressing through the competition with increasing skill and teamwork. Well done all!

03.03.25 Brighton College Sports Festival
We took a team of year 4s to a multi-sports festival at Brighton College. The team had a great time playing hockey, basketball, rugby and netball with a bit of training and a match in each sport at the end. It was lovely meeting other schools and learning new skills. Apparently, the best part was the cookie, fruit and popcorn at the end!

Brighton and Hove Tag Rugby Festival
Some of our year 5 and year 6 girls went to the Brighton and Hove tag rugby festival last week.
This was to celebrate the Womens’ Rugby World Cup coming to England in 2025 with some matches being played here in Brighton! Our girls had a great time and put up a great display of skill and teamwork.
