Children will also learn about the invention of the London Underground and how this changed the face of London and the way people lived and worked. They will learn about the history of the train stations in London and research the different train routes. |
During the Crime and Punishment topic, children will look at how crime, its detection and its punishment has changed through history. The children will go right back to the Roman times and then work their way through time to the modern day. They will focus on Romans, Anglo Saxons, Tudors; looking at how they brought different laws and punishments to Britain and how we still use some elements of this today. The children will explore The Grand Canyon. They will look in detail at the different biomes in The Grand Canyon. They will explore what can grow an survive in the different parts of the Canyon. Later in the topic they will learn about the people who live in the Canyon and how they have adjusted their lifestyles to cope with how the world has changed.
In our Countries of the world topic, the children will learn all about the different continents and where different countries are. They will learn about the highest mountains of the world and where these are located. Children will also learn about all the capital cities of the world. Towards the end of the topic, children will do some research into a particular country and then they will do a comparison between where they live and the life of a child in another country.
